Named after the wild geese in the area, Gansbaai is a quaint fishing village from where there are sweeping views of this rugged stretch of coast. Each year during the summer holiday season people from up-country flock to nearby villages from Franskraal to Pearly Beach as well as the holiday resort at Uilenskraalmond in order to enjoy the fine weather and wide open beaches where various activities take place, including angling, boating and safe bathing in the lagoon.

# Self-catering studios - with sea view and en suite bathrooms. They are equipped with a fridge and microwave and utensils to prepare a light meal. BBQ facility available
# A self-catering family flat which can also accommodate four or five backpackers

High season : 1 September to 30 April = ZAR810 double / ZAR520 single
Peak season : 20 December to 10 January = ZAR900 double
Self-catering :
Low season : 1 May to 30 August = ZAR540 per studio
High season : 1 September to 30 April = ZAR590 per studio
Babies and toddlers free when sharing with parents (own cot or playpen)
All other children full price if separate room required or R120 extra (max 1 child sharing room with parents)

Payment Policy:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation of the reservation and the balance is payable on arrival.

Directions from Cape Town / Hermanus
N2 direction George - 60 km to Hermanus turn-off [R43]. Travel through Hermanus and Stanford - 40 km to Gansbaai.
Enter Gansbaai in Main Road. Travel straight through Gansbaai, crossing four 4-way stops, and at the fifth stop [about 800 meters out of Gansbaai] turn RIGHT towards Kleinbaai - Travel for 2.8 km until you reach a stop sign in Kleinbaai. Turn left in Van Dyk Street [first tarred road to your left] and drive for about 1.5 km until you reach no 77 Van Dyk Street [Aire del Mar Guest House] on your left.
Directions from the Garden Route / N2
N2 direction Cape Town - Stanford/Hermanus turn-off is 10 km after Riviersonderend [R326] - 60 km to Stanford. At T-junction in Stanford, turn left - 20 km to Gansbaai. Further as above.
The other option is To take the N2 to Caledon. At Caledon, You turn off to take the R316 to Bredasdorp/Napier. At the intersection (Approx 30km outside of Caledon), you will find the R326 (turn Right) that will take you to Stanford. At Stanford, turn Left onto thw R43 to Gansbaai. Rest of the directions as above.



Activities :# Shark viewing: A boat trip to see the Great White Sharks from the surface near Dyer Island, and cage-diving with them! The harbour is within walking distance.
# Whale watching: Its whale season from July until November: Either watch from the shore or your room, or take a boat trip to see these huge beasts from close-up.
# Hiking and strolling: Many coastal paths are directly in front of the guest house, or well-known hikes are within a short distance drive. A 15 km unspoilt sandy beach awaits you near Uilenkraalsmond River [4 km]
# Bird watching: Locally along the coast or a canoe trip on the Klein River in Stanford, just 20 minutes drive away.
# 4x4: Take a trip up the mountain to see the local Fynbos, as well as a spectacular view of the coastline.
# Wine tasting: A trip to Hermanus and the nearby "Hemel en Aarde" ("Heaven and Earth") wine valley will be unforgettable (45 minutes drive)
# Beer tasting: Near Stanford is Birkenhead breweries for locally produced beers
# Golf: Play on our own 9-hole course (2 km) or visit Arabella Country Estate (1 hour drive) which offers a world-class 18-hole course
# Drive to the most Southern tip of Africa , L'Aghulhas, just one hour away
# Day off: Relax in the sun at the beach all day (4 km)
# Day off [raining] : Relax in your room with a wonderful panoramic view over the bay
# Horse Riding and Kayak trips also available within 50km from the Guesthouse
