The town of Montagu lies in the valley of the Langeberg range where the Boland, the Little Karoo and the south western districts meet. Montagu boasts outstanding scenery, tonic climate, mineral springs and sporting facilities which attract large numbers of holiday makers especially in the winter months. Montagu was founded in 1851. Montagu Museum has an interesting local history section. There are a number of attractive old buildings in Montagu, several of which are national monuments.

Montagu, the western gateway to the Little Karoo, is the scenic heart of Route 62, the historic link between Cape Town, the Garden Route and Eastern Cape. A unique rural atmosphere distinguishes Montagu as one of the best kept late Victorian agricultural villages in the Western Cape.
The many attractions and its central location make Montagu a sought after tourist town and perfect base from where the countryside can be explored. There are a number of hiking trails in the area as well as opportunities for rock climbers.
The hot springs just outside of town are very popular. Horse riding, golf, tennis, bowls also available.

From the East (Oudtshoorn, George, Knysna etc.):
Follow the R62 into Montagu. Turn right at the 5th street (Church Street). Drive up to the church and turn right into Bath Street. We are around the corner at number 36 on the right-hand side of the street.
From the West and South (Cape Town, Worcester, Hermanus, and Swellendam etc.):
Follow the R60/R62 into Montagu. Turn left at the 3rd street (Church Street). Drive up to the church and turn right into Bath Street. We are around the corner at number 36 on the right-hand side of the street.
From the North (Touws River, Beaufort West etc.):
Follow the R318 into Montagu. Drive along Bath Street, through the business area. We are diagonally opposite the Post Office at number 36, on the left-hand side of the street.
