The small town of Villiersdorp was named after Field Cornet P.H. de Villiers who was responsible for its establishment in 1843. It is the centre for the processing and marketing of the fruit, grapes, grain and onions of the district and lies in the picturesque Elands Valley, sheltered by the surrounding mountains; Aasvoelberg, 1644 metres to the west and Olifantsberg, 1603 mtres to the east, are the highest peaks. On the western side of the town is a beautiful botanical garden noted for proteas and its delightful show of summer annuals.

Berg en Dal is a luxury retreat surrounded by beautiful views. You will find us in the picturesque town of Villiersdorp near the Theewaterskloof Dam. We are conveniently situated central to all amenities and within reach of various beautiful sights, amongst others the well known town of Franschhoek. Cape Town can be reached via the beautiful Franschhoek pass or alternatively via Sir Lowry's pass. Enjoy great shopping experiences in the V&A Waterfront or in the Somerset Mall in Somerset West. You can visit the historical town of Stellenbosch on route to Cape Town. Alternatively you can enjoy the beautiful Cape Town beaches.

Directions:
As you enter Villiersdorp from Worcestor drive down Main Road past the Dutch Reformed Church on the right to the first stop street. Turn right into Union Avenue and left onto Graaff Street and continue to Berg en Dal Guest house.
From Franschoek, Grabouw and Caledon you enter Villiersdorps Main Road. After you past OK Foods you cross the 4 way stop and conyinue for approximately 100 metres and turn left into Van Riebeeck Street. Turn right into Graaff Street and continue to Berg en Dal Guesthouse on your right.
