CEDAR LODGE GUEST HOUSE

StarStarStar

Type : Guest House Accommodation
Grading : Tourism Grading Council of South Africa - Three stars.
Location : Robertson
Robertson is situated south-east of Worcester on the road to Swellendam. Robertson is the centre of the irrigates region of the Breede River Valley, famous for its fruit and wine farms, notably muscatel. Along with the jacarandas, oaks and ash trees more than 6000 rose bushes line the streets offering typical decoration to the many well-preserved Victorian style buildings. Robertson is situated amidst spectacular scenery and is a popular starting point for climbs into the Langeberg range, especially to Dassieshoek and He Hoop, where the beautiful flora nerine can be seen in its natural habitat.

Description : Cedar Lodge Guest House offers up-market bed and breakfast accommodation in a quiet residential area of Robertson. We welcome tourists and business people alike, providing personalised service and value for money. This is your "home away from home" with its large, tranquil tropical garden, sparkling swimming pool and abundant bird life. Relax and unwind at Cedar Lodge Guest House "where the rest is best".
The most magnificent views in Robertson of the Langeberg Mountains can be enjoyed from the verandah of the two upstairs rooms where you can relax and sip your evening sun downers. Cedar Lodge is centrally situated to all amenities and excursions.
We offer three tastefully decorated double en-suite rooms and one family / executive suite, which also has a fully-equipped kitchenette. The rooms are named for their individual bathroom themes, i.e. Kalahari, Tarentaal, African Footprint and Ndlovu.
Breakfast is served in our dining room or on the pool deck. This varies from the traditional full English or Continental breakfast to the likes of Eggs Benedict, Haddock Sublime, Savory Pancakes and many more such breakfast treats. Lunches are served only by prior arrangement.
Cedar Lodge is renowned for its "fine dining" evening meals, to quote one of our guests "Cedar Lodge is the only 5-star restaurant in Robertson". Unfortunately we are not open to the public, but only for the pleasure of our guests (by prior arrangement). Our fine dining three or four course evening meals are created by Chef Paul, assisted by his wife Lynne, from his experience in the hotel/ catering industry blended with flavours gained from European travels and from chartering their 40' catamaran through tropical island paradises. Availability, freshness and experience are the key ingredients to the successful "plat du jour". A selective à la carte menu is also available (e.g. Roast Sirloin of Wildebeest in phyllo pastry dribbled with a green Madagascan peppercorn and Amarula sauce paired with a bottle of De Wetshof Naissance Cabernet Sauvignon). Hope we've wet your appetites."

ROBERTSON This quaint small town still retains its olde world charm. Situated on the Breede River, Robertson lies in the shadow of the majestic Langeberg Mountains and is the Heart of the Cape Route 62 wine route (the longest wine route in the world). The Robertson Wine Valley is renowned for its award winning wines, its roses and thoroughbred horses, and boasts some 48 wineries within a 40km radius of the town. To mention a few - De Wetshof, Bon Courage, Major's Hill, Rooiberg, Springfield, Van Loveren, Zandvliet and, of course, the second biggest wine producer in South Africa, namely Robertson Winery. It is also home to the Klipdrift Brandy Distillery - "make yourself at home" they say, as do we at Cedar Lodge Guest House.
