Bredasdorp was founded on the farm Langefontein in 1838, by the Hon. Michiel van Breda, who was the first mayor of Cape Town and a member of the Cape Legislative Council. The old farm homestead together with the old Independent Church alongside, are both national monuments and both buildings today house a unique and fascinating collection of shipwreck memorabilia. The Shipwreck Museum in Bredasdorp, tells the tale of the fate of many a soul who encountered the ocean.

Independent from the main cottage, this 160 year-old thatched B&B is spacious, clean and comfortable and can accommodate up to four people. Enjoy the privacy of your own entrance and off street parking in a pretty garden setting.
Just off the village centre with all amenities including excellent restaurants, let this be your staging-post between the long white beaches of Cape Agulhas and the fishermen's village of Arniston at the southernmost tip of Africa, both of which are less than a half-hour's drive away, and the N2 national highway into the hinterland of South Africa, or back to nearby Cape Town along breathtaking scenic whale-watching coastal routes. Things to do : Spectacular walks - Whale watching - Relaxing on the beach - Visit De Hoop and other Nature Reserves - Take part in the Foot of Africa marathon.

Directions on How to Get There
From Cape Town travel out towards the Garden Route on the N2. At Caledon turn off the N2 onto the R316 and travel through Napier to Bredasdorp. In Bredasdorp travel down Lang Street until you reach All Saints Street. Turn right into All Saints Street. The Coach House is at number 51 on your left.
