The fishermen's cottages roofed with straw gave Struisbaai its name. Three of these cottages have been restored and serve as a reminder of a time gone by. The handsome bay has been formed by an eleven kilometer curve in the coastline where fishermen, bathers and sun-seekers are attracted. Each year in mid-summer the Trans Agulhas boat race takes place and draws large crowds of excited spectators. Another event which takes place annually and also attracts large crowds is the Struisbaai Geelstertfees.
Description : Spacious, fully furnished apartment attached to private home near the harbour and sea in Struisbaai. A quick walk to the beach, about two hundred metres away from Skulpiesbaai. Indoor and outdoor braai facilities. Lounge with comfortable easy chairs and television. DSTV - bring your own decoder or pay ZAR20 per day for connectivity.
Fully equipped kitchen with four plate stove, fridge, freezer, microwave and all kitchen utensils including toaster, kettle, coffee maker etc.
Accommodation : The self-catering apartment can accommodate five people in two bedrooms - one with a double bed and the other with a double bed and a single bed. There is a full bathroom with bath and shower.

Tariff :
Peak season: Easter and 15 December to 15 January : ZAR250 per person per night
All other time: ZAR150.00 per person per night.
Children under twelve: Free
Minimum : two nights stay - ZAR300.00 per night.
Payment Policy:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation of the reservation and the balance is payable on arrival.

Directions on How to Get There
From Cape Town: Travel on the N2 to Caledon. At Caledon take the route through Napier and Bredasdorp to Struisbaai. In Struisbaai drive down the main road past the harbour to the end of all buildings on your left. Turn left into Ocean View Drive. Take the first left into Heide Avenue. De Heide is the fourth house on the left.
