Bredasdorp was founded on the farm Langefontein in 1838, by the Hon. Michiel van Breda, who was the first mayor of Cape Town and a member of the Cape Legislative Council. The old farm homestead together with the old Independent Church alongside, are both national monuments and both buildings today house a unique and fascinating collection of shipwreck memorabilia. The Shipwreck Museum in Bredasdorp, tells the tale of the fate of many a soul who encountered the rough seas.

Description :
Experience life on a working farm which practises mixed farming activities such as grain, sheep and a very enterprising ostrich venture - watch the breeding process unfold from egg to hatchlings.
Activities :
We are 30 kilometres from de Hoop Nature Reserve en route to Malagas and Infanta. Cross the river at Malagas on a hand operated pont and drive to Witsand and Fort Beaufort. Visit the Shipwreck Museum in Bredasdorp or have a picnic at de Mond Nature Reserve. Don't miss the charming village with two names - Arniston / Waenhuiskrans.
Birdwatching, hiking, cycling are all activities which can be practised at leisure and are sure to help you chill!

Accommodation :
Accommodation is next to the main house and is behind secure fences and gates for those who find it hard to escape from the conditions of life in the city! The accommodation comprises an outside room or outhouse with a large sleeping area which contains a double bed and two single beds, bathroom with shower and kitchenette equipped for light self-catering, with a fridge, microwave and basic utensils. Outside braai area in a drum. Fire wood on sale. Tea, coffee facilities with Marianna's delectible farm rusks supplied. Linen and towels provided.

Prices quoted in South African Rands (ZAR)

ZAR300 per night per unit for two people sharing.
ZAR450 per night per unit for four people sharing
Children under 12: ZAR75 each per night
Minimum two night stay

Payment Policy:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation of the reservation and the balance is payable on arrival.

Directions on How to Get There
From Cape Town:
Take the N2 to Caledon. At Caledon turn off the N2 onto the R316 to Bredasdorp. Travel into the centre of Bredasdorp and at the intersection of All Saints Street turn left towards Swellendam. After approximately seven kilometres turn right at the Malagas / Infanta turn off. Travel on the gravel road for approximately seven kilometers. At the sign 'Theo & Marianna Blom' turn right. Travel 1.2 kilometers and turn right at the big rock. The farm is 3 kilometers further on.
