Matjiesvlei Cottages - Self Catering Accommodation
The Stalle has 3 bedrooms; a bathroom; kitchenette and stoep with a built-in braai, which serves as dining room/lounge.
Two of the bedrooms have two single beds in each, as well as a Queen Anne stove, if the nights should be cold.
The main bedroom has a double bed. The bathroom has a bath, a shower, a basin and a toilet.
In the kitchenette there is a basin; fridge/freezer; microwave oven; kettle; toaster. The 2-plate on- counter- stove is on the stoep. There is enough crockery/cutlery to make your stay an enjoyable one.
All linen is included, as well as towels.
The cottage has very nice stoep overlooking the veld.

Calitzdorp, South Africa's Port Capital is on the R62 Scenic Route, halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. It is nestled in the heart of the Klein Karoo, or Kannaland as it is better known, 50km from Oudtshoorn, 110km from George and 380km from Cape Town. Things to do in Matjiesvlei:
* Fly-fishing in the Gamka River.
* Walking in the valley and veld.
* Mountain biking on valley roads.
* Bird watching.
* Swimming and paddling on the river.
* No quad bikes or jet skis are allowed.
Directions on How to Get There
* To get there, you travel on the R62.
* Coming from Ladismith, the turnoff to Matjiesvlei is 40km from Ladismith.
* Coming from Oudtshoorn through Calitzdorp, the turnoff to Matjiesvlei is 10km from Calitzdorp.
* The turnoff is clearly marked.
* Once on the gravel road, you carry on for 7km until you get to a T-junction.
* To go to Die Stalle, turn right at the T-junction.
* Continue for about 600m. You will see the Bokwagtershuis sign, as well as that of Die Stalle, on the fence to your left.
* Use the gate to the right of the sign for Bokwagtershuis and the left gate for Die Stalle.
Best viewed at 1024 x 768 resolution and 15 bit colour .
