Nestling at the foot of the Soetmuisberg and surrounded by rolling wheat and barley fields lies the little town of Napier. Founded in 1838 and named after Sir George Napier, who was governor of the Cape at the time, this village of old world charm has tranquil appeal. In times gone by, Napier's main craftsmen were blacksmiths tending to the many carts of the district. These days the village celebrates its past with an annual Horse and Cart Festival.

Description: Driftwood offers cosy, comfortable, self-catering accommodation in the charming little village of Napier, centrally situated in the picturesque Overberg region nestled between mountain ranges and the southernmost point of Africa.
The cottage is set in a delightful, secluded garden with stunning views looking north towards the mountains from its patio and the "boma" viewing deck. There is off-street parking for at least two vehicles. It is a quaint, tastefully decorated self-catering cottage in olde world/farmhouse style for a magical, tranquil countryside experience.
Suitable for a couple or one person.
Fold-up beds can be arranged for young children.
Lounge/bedroom, kitchenette, en-suite bathroom with shower and old-fashioned bath.
Delightful four-poster bed. Bedding and towels.
Cooker, fridge, heater, fan.
Music, books and games. No TV.

Number of Rooms/Units: One large room, en-suite
Number of Guests: Two or three
Room/Unit Description: The cottage consists of one large room with sleeping area, lounge and kitchenette, with en-suite bathroom consisting of old-fashioned bath and a shower. The sleeping area has a quaint four-poster double bed all the way from the Mediterranean, and if required there is a single bed in the lounge area which can be fully curtained off from the sleeping area. If a family wishes to accommodate two children, a fold-up bed can always be arranged for the lounge area. The kitchenette is fully equipped with stove, large fridge, washing machine, iron, and there is a fan and heater in the lounge area. Regret no microwave and no TV, although there are games and books to keep you entertained.

Facilities: The cottage has a portable braai for use on the patio or in the garden, and there is a "sundowner" viewing deck situated in the garden, looking over the valley across the farmlands towards the Sonderend mountains - a perfect place to relax and watch the sunsets. There is off-street parking for at least two cars.

Tariff:
ZAR200 is per person per night Self-catering. or ZAR250 single.
ZAR100 per night for a third person in single bed.
Discounts for long stays - stay six nights and the seventh is free.
Children policy: Children under eight less 20%, or R100 in the single bed or a fold-up bed.

Down on the main street of Napier, just a few minutes' walk from Driftwood Cottage, you'll find an extraordinary assortment of shops, pubs, restaurants, galleries, arts and craft shops, considering the size of the village. It is alive: vibrant and friendly. Here are some of the attractions:

Fetch the keys from Driftwood - 28 High Street, which is one street up from the main street in the centre of the village, behind Pascals Restaurant and Suntouched Inn - and we'll show you to the cottage.

Payment Policy :
A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation of the reservation and the balance is payable on arrival.
