The fishermen's cottages roofed with straw gave Struisbaai its name. Three of these cottages have been restored and serve as a reminder of a time gone by. The handsome bay has been formed by an eleven kilometer curve in the coastline where fishermen, bathers and sun-seekers are attracted. Each year in mid-summer the Trans Agulhas boat race takes place and draws large crowds of excited spectators. Another event which takes place annually and also attracts large crowds is the Struisbaai Geelstertfees.
Description : Erika Self-catering House. If you want to relax in comfort, with good sea views, Erika is the house for you. Only 500m from the main beach and approximately 200m from the shops, restaurants and churches, you are within walking distance of all the amenities Struisbaai has to offer. The large garden gives a peaceful atmosphere and there are two separate barbeque (braai) areas to choose from.
Erika has two bedrooms with sea views. One bedroom has twin beds and en suite bathroom. The other bedroom has a double bed. Both bedrooms have doors leading to a small balcony. Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own swimming towels.
Erika has two bathrooms, one en suite and an unlimited supply of hot water, thanks to the gas geyser.
The large kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need: kitchen utensils, stove, deep freeze, fridge, microwave oven, automatic washing machine, as well as basic necessities like coffee, tea, dishwashing liquid, etc.
The exceptionally large and lovely lounge/dining room area is ideal for relaxing with family and friends, or just to sit and gaze at the sea. Warm those chilly winter nights with a cosy fire, while watching your favourite shows on DSTV (bring own decoder and card). There is also a divan in the lounge area for that afternoon nap; suitable for an extra person.
Erika accommodates five people, but a self contained, one bedroomed flat, with own bathroom, at ground level, can be rented with the house, making it suitable for eight people.
Tariff:
Weekends - from ZAR450 per night for two people plus ZAR70 per each additional person. (maximum 8 people)
Mid week - from ZAR410 per night for two people plus ZAR70 per each additional person. (maximum 8 people)
Easter and December Holidays - from ZAR800 per night for up to 5 people plus ZAR70 per additional person. (maximum 8 people)

Payment Policy:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation of the reservation and the balance is payable on arrival.
