With its meaning 'town of peace', Vredenburg belies the atmosphere in which it had its beginning. Vredenburg was originally known as Protesfontein(the fountain of lawsuits) because of the quareling that went on between the first owners of the two farms; on which the town of Vredenburg now stands; over the water rights of the spring on the boundary separating their farms.
Since Vredenburg's establishment in 1875 it has been known as the centre of the Agterbaai, the prosperous sheep-and wheat-farming district to the rear of the bay.

Golden Key B&B Guest House is situated in Vredenburg, near to Saldanha Bay, Jacobs Bay, Langebaan, Paternoster, Port Owen and St Helena Bay.
We are ideally suited for the business person, or if you wish to get away from it all. We offer you a peaceful stopover, whether you are in the West Coast for business or on holiday. We are situated in a safe and quiet area, conveniently located in the upper part of town.

Each room is individually decorated and has coffee/tea facilities.
Breakfast is served between 07h00 and 09h00 in our communal guest dining room with a scenic view of farming surroundings. If you prefer not ot have breakfast, ZAR50 per person will be deducted .
Special dietary requirements can be catered for.
Brunch/ Lunch/ Dinner available on request.
We cater for conferences up to fifteen people.
