From the summit of Viljoen's Pass the descent is gradual, through beautiful farmlands down to Elgin, a household name for apples and one of the most important transportation centres in South Africa. From here during the apple-picking season (January to May) the packhouses, employing the ultra modern electronic methods (grading by size and colour) grade and pack millions of apples which after being precooled are transported to Table Bay Harbour. Forty per cent of the country's apples come from Elgin.

Surrounded by enchanting orchards and majestic mountains, during summer, guests can laze at the pool with beautiful mountain vistas, visit the wine farms and orchards in the Elgin Valley, or stroll in the nearby Marsh Rose Mall. Guests can enjoy innovative modern cuisine at the Lady and The Fig Bistro with A la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner, alternatively for a unique and exciting experience is served at the recently opened Rose and Bull, Steakhouse and Grill. Be pampered at the nearby beauty salon or unwind with a little shopping therapy.
Purpose-built as a venue for weddings and conferences, the lodge lends itself as the -ideal destination for corporates, locals and tourists.

~ Drive on over Sir Lowry’s Pass via N2
~ As you continue, you will see the turn off into grabouw to your left.
~ You will see the Orchard Farm Stall in front of you.
~ Turn left at first next entrance .
~ You will see the BP petrol station in front of you.
~ Turn left at Pertol station
~ You will see the GRABOUW LODGE elevated on the left. From Southern Cape and Overberg region
~ Drive on N2 until you find Grabouw turnoff
~ with Orchard Farm Stall on your right.
~ Turn right, and first left at BP petrol station.
~ Follow directions as above.
