Description :
Keisie Cottages consists of four self-catering farm holiday cottages offering accommodation near Montagu, Western Cape. The farm, called Vredendal lies at the end of the beautiful Keisie Valley, just below the Koo valley. In season you can watch or take part in harvesting apricots, peaches, grapes, quinces, gooseberries and plums. You can also pick your own herbs from our organic herb garden or pick your own roses for R3 a rose! We are also pet-friendly.
Keisie Cottages comprises of four self-catering mountain cottages which are perfect for people who want a peaceful, quiet few days break close to nature. There are lovely hikes, especially one to a series of rock pools, it is great for mountain biking, and there is a lovely pool area, with a wooden deck and magnificent views.
Close enough to the Montagu Hot Springs, the Robertson and Bonnievale Wine Routes, the lovely little town of Barrydale, there is plenty to do here. There are 4x4 tracks nearby, quad-biking, mountain climbing, game drives including Aquila and Sanbona which has the Big Five. Our neighbours are Protea Farm which does the famous tractor rides to the top of the Langeberg followed by a tempting potjie kos traditional meal cooked on open fires in the forest.
All the cottages are fully equipped for self-catering and all have fireplaces inside and braai facilities outside. What is more, you may bring your dog, as long as you bring their bedding as well!
Accommodation :
Vine Cottage :
is one of three converted farm cottages in a row (but not adjoined). They are rustic but cosy and comfortable. They all have large indoor fireplaces, stoeps and braai facilities and are fully self-catering. They have screens between the cottages for privacy. Vine sleeps two in a double room.
Fig Tree Cottage :
is the third farm cottage. Sleeps two in a double room.
Lavender Cottage :
is the second farm cottage. Sleeps four in one double room and one room with twin beds. All the converted farm cottages have modernised bathrooms with gas showers and a toilet.
Keisie Cottage :
is the largest of our cottages. It has three bedrooms and a double sleeper couch in the lounge. Separate dining room and kitchen. Bathroom with bath and shower and loo as well as another separate loo. Large covered patio with braai facilities in a private, pretty and enclosed garden and a beautiful view. Sleeps six in the house. Also fully self-catering. There is also a wendy house in the garden with two pine beds in it. It has electricity and 2 extra guests can be accommodated in there (bedding not included). Max. 6 people, R50 per person extra.
Guests - total 14 per night in all cottages. Children - we charge per unit per night not per person per night. Children welcome. Pets also!

Payment Policy:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation of the reservation and the balance is payable on arrival.

Directions on How to Get There
Take the R318 out of Montagu, past the Avalon Springs turnoff for 24 kilometres. Vredendal Farm is just below the Burger Pass - the last turnoff on the left hand side. Keisie Cottages are on Vredendal Farm.

We found the Cottages although advertised as "rustic" to be most comfortable, well kitted out with all the essentials and most important, to be
clean and smoke free .They are situated in one of the most beautiful parts of our country with marvelous views and lots of interesting things to do in the surrounding area. The bird-life is unbelievable and of course the peace and quiet is a real plus! Our hosts Toni and Mike were most pleasant and helpful. We hope to be back there one day!!!....

I want to extend a huge thank you for your incredible hospitality when we stayed with you last week. After spending 6 days in and out of our car through the Karoo, arriving at your farm felt like arriving home. The children are absolutely besotted with the farm and are bugging us non-stop to return for another (longer) visit. A special thanks for accommodating Edge in your home. He had a tough Epic and we wanted to do whatever it took to get him through to the next stage. After spending a night with you he was fully recharged and well rested and ended the race in Somerset West with a smile and a thought of doing it again next year.
When we were sitting on the verandah at the cottage the kids summed things up beautifully by saying they would rather be on the Keisie farm than skiing in Sweden (where their friends currently are).
