The Franschhoek mountains close the end of the Drakenstein Valley and below the range is the little town of Franschhoek, first settled by the French Huguenots in 1688. The village has several fine eating houses and accommodation establishments. At the head of Franschhoek's main road and the foot of the Franschhoek Pass is the impressive Huguenot Memorial. Set in its own formal garden with a splendid mountain backdrop.
Description : La Galiniere Guest Cottages are located on a secluded boutique vineyard on the main road into Franschhoek. Converted workers' accommodation, the three cottages provide high standard self-catering accommodation suitable for an overnight or longer stay. The vineyard is located just a few minutes from the centre of Franschhoek and is in easy walking distance of the town's facilities.
Families are welcome and the farm has a swimming pool that the guests may use. Breakfast baskets can be arranged upon request. A complimentary bottle of wine is provided with every booking.

Shiraz Cottage - Self-catering cottage comprising one bedroom (twin or king size bed), small hallway, bathroom (with shower, basin & toilet) and fully-equipped kitchen. TV in bedroom with DSTV, tea/coffee making facilities. Sleeps two. Can also accommodate baby crib.
Cabernet Cottage - Self-catering cottage comprising one bedroom (double bed), large living room (1 sofa, 1 sofa/bed, TV with DSTV and dining table & chairs), fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom (shower over bath, basin & toilet). Tea/coffee making facilities. Sleeps two plus 1 child. Can also accommodate baby crib.
Merlot Cottage - Self-catering cottage comprising two bedrooms (twin or king size beds), living room (2 sofas, TV with DSTV and dining table, fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom (shower over bath, basin & toilet). Tea/coffee making facilities. Sleeps four. Can accommodate baby crib.

Pets : The farm has three German Shepherd dogs. Bringing pets is not advised.

Payment Policy:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation of the reservation and the balance is payable on arrival.

Attractions and Activities:
Franschhoek is the ideal location for a weekend away or as the base for exploring the region. The town has some of South Africa's best restaurants, great wineries and fine shops.
A variety of tours can be easily arranged, as can transfers and car hire.
Directions:
The cottages are secluded from the main road and the entrance to the farm is concealed.
When entering Franschhoek from Paarl or Stellenbosch, you will pass the Grande Provence Estate, Franschhoek Country House and Allora Italian Restaurant on your right-hand side. La Galiniere Guest Cottages are located immediately after Allora Restaurant. If you reach the turning for Provence Road, you have gone too far.
