After Cape Town and Stellenbosch, Swellendam was the third settlement to be founded by the Dutch East India Company. The Drostdy was completed in 1747 and in the same year the new district was named Swellendam in honour of Governor Hendrik Swellengrebel and his wife Helena ten Damme. Swellendam is a busy centre of a thriving agricultural region.
Description : Langeberg Guest Lodge is a newly built B&B designed in traditional Cape Dutch style. We set out to combine modern European standards of comfort and luxury with old fashioned South African charm and hospitality. We hope we have succeeded!
Reception and breakfast are in the main house and guests stay in spacious garden cottage rooms flanked by landscaped lawns and borders of indigenous plants. You may stroll in the gardens or linger in a shady nook - as the mood takes you.
The Lodge also has a large salt water swimming pool and lapa (covered shelter) with a lovely view of the Langeberg Mountains. Enjoy a sundowner after an afternoon swim. Perfect!

The family room has a King size bed and two single beds with an en-suite bathroom
Our spacious rooms offer: ceiling fans, percale bed linen, dresser, easy chair(s), coffee table, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, original artwork, TVs and DVD players. Bathrooms are light and airy with walk-in showers, Egyptian cotton bath sheets and hand towels, terry cotton bath mats, duck boards, robe and towel hooks. All rooms have private entrances and patios.

Swellendam is located halfway between Cape Town and George adjacent to the N2 highway.
Langeberg Guest Lodge from the N2
Take the exit signed "Swellendam West, Ashton, Worcester R60".
Turn right at the first 4-way stop into Voortrek Street - the main road through Swellendam.
Continue past the Old Mill restaurant and Langeberg Academy on the left.
The Lodge is approximately 200 metres further, also on the left.
