The town of Montagu lies in the valley of the Langeberg range where the Boland, the Little Karoo and the south western districts meet. Montagu boasts outstanding scenery, tonic climate, mineral springs and sporting facilities which attract large numbers of holiday makers especially in the winter months. Montagu was founded in 1851. Montagu Museum has an interesting local history section. There are a number of attractive old buildings in Montagu, several of which are national monuments.
Description : Owners Joop and Micky warmly welcome guests to their Cape Dutch style guesthouse in Montagu, South Africa.
Malherbe guesthouse is a National Monument and was built in 1859. The house has been lovingly restored and offers 5 en-suite rooms, 4 with private entrance and patio or verandah . Rooms have a bar-fridge, electronic safe, fan, a heater for the winter, hospitality tray and hairdryer, WI-FI HOT SPOT, garden rooms have air conditioning (cooling & heating), TV with MNet. The guesthouse also has a spacious guest lounge where you can enjoy a complementary glass Montagu Muscadel.
The guest lounge overlooks the lovely secluded garden with beautiful views of the Langeberg Mountains. Take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or laze in the shade in a comfortable lounge chair.
In the morning a scrumptious breakfast (with home-made bread and fresh orange juice) is served on the terrace under the vines overlooking the garden or indoors.

Tariff : Bed & Breakfast Tariff in South African Rand (ZAR) Low Season : 1st May to 30th September Rooms 2 - 4 = ZAR325 per person sharing. Rooms 5 - 6 = ZAR385 per person sharing. High Season : 1st October to 30th April Rooms 2 - 4 = ZAR395 per person sharing. Rooms 5 - 6 = ZAR460 per person sharing.
Payment Policy:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation of the reservation and the balance is payable on arrival.

Directions on How to Get There When you enter Montagu from Cape Town direction, we are the first guest house on your left hand side. Approximately 500 meters after you cross the bridge.
Activities : Some local activities include; wine tasting, walk and hiking trails, bird watching, hot springs, fishing, golf, 4x4 trails, museums and rock climbing.
