The picturesque town of Hermanus lies between the Kleinrivierberge and the sea and stretches for six kilometres along the north shore of Walker Bay. Celebrated for its coastal beauty, wild flowers, angling, fine beaches and whales, Hermanus is one of the premier holiday resorts of the country. The holiday season which used to range through spring and summer to autumn - September to May - has in modern times increased to make the resort popular all year round.
Description : Mooinoointjie is owned and run by the artist Rika Kemp and offers private, affordable accommodation in the heart of Hermanus. It is situated 500 meters from the village centre as well as the ocean and the famous cliff path but is tucked away in quiet part of town. Accommodation consists of two self catering units and one double room. The units are affordable and beautifully decorated and all are accessible by a private entrance. The self contained flat is upstairs and has two en-suite bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. It boasts a comfortable lounge with plenty of reading matter, a dining area and well stocked kitchenette. The flat also has its own patio with braai facilities and views of the mountain. A third bedroom could be included on request. The charming flatlet sleeps two adults upstairs with a sleeper couch downstairs that could accommodate a child. It has a small kitchen with a bar fridge, microwave and all the basics plus a private shady courtyard to relax in after a day in the sun.
A separate room with a double bed and en suite bathroom is also available. A small fridge plus tea/coffee facilities are included in this room.

Directions on How to Get There Take the N2 from Cape Town towards George and travel over Sir Lowry's Pass. You will pass Grabouw and as you come down the Houw Hoek Pass, turn left to Hermanus (R43). Continue along this road all the way to the centre of Hermanus. At the 1st traffic circle take the second road (straight across), follow the main road as is turns sharply to the left and continue until the next traffic circle. Take the second road (straight across). You will pass the Marine Hotel on your right. Take the next road left (Stemmet Street) and then the 1st right (Mitchell Street). Mooinooientjie is the 3rd house on your left.
