The Drostdy was completed in 1747 and in the same year the new district was named Swellendam in honour of Governor Hendrik Swellengrebel and his wife Helena ten Damme. Swellendam is a busy centre of a thriving agricultural region.
Description : Come and stay in a thoroughly modernised traditional Cape Dutch House. Built in 1798, Moolmanshof B&B, has been declared a National Monument and was the original bed and breakfast accommodation in Swellendam.
