THE OLD SMITHY
Type : Self-catering Farm Accommodation
Location : Napier
Nesting under 'Soetmuisberg' and surrounded by rolling wheat and barley fields lies the little town of Napier. Founded in 1838 and named after Sir George Napier, who was governor of the Cape at the time, this village of old world charm has tranquil appeal. In times gone by, Napier's main craftsmen were blacksmiths tending to the many carts of the district. These days the village celebrates its past with an annual Horse and Cart Festival.
Description : As the name suggests this cosy, thatched cottage is a converted blacksmith's shop. The original smithy's oven and tools are incorporated into the decor.
