Bredasdorp was founded on the farm Langefontein in 1838, by the Hon. Michiel van Breda, who was the first mayor of Cape Town and a member of the Cape Legislative Council. The old farm homestead together with the old Independent Church alongside, are both national monuments and both buildings today house a unique and fascinating collection of shipwreck memorabilia. The Shipwreck Museum in Bredasdorp, tells the tale of the fate of many a soul who encountered the rough seas.
Description : Patryskraal Farm Cottage offers self-catering comfort and homliness in the countryside. Situated about 17km out of town this spacious, open plan cottage is warm and informal with a large indoor fireplace which doubles as a braai.
The cottage is fully equipped for self-catering. Linen and towels are provided.
Wood provided as part of your stay.
Accommodation :There is a double bed in a niche and two benches with good quality mattresses in the living area which convert to single beds. The bathroom has a bath and shower.
Facilities : Tea, coffee, milk provided as part of your stay.

Tariff :
ZAR180 per person for the first two people.
ZAR120 per person for the third and fourth persons.
Babies in own cots are free.
Minimum tariff per stay ZAR400.

Directions on How to Get There
From Bredasdorp, take route R319 towards Swellendam. Turn right at the De Hoop / Malgas turn-off which is approximately 6km out of town. Travel for 10.5km to Patryskraal which is situated on the lefy side of the road. Please park at the cottage which is situated behind the main house.
Activities and Attractions
Excellent farm roads for hiking, running and mountain biking. Outdoor fire pit for relaxing around the fire and soaking up the silence and spectacular star-filled sky at night.
We farm with sheep, ostriches and wheat. Cobus runs the well-known Patryskraal Merino Stud. By prior arrangement (and weather permitting!) guests can take a drive with Cobus on the farm and maybe cool-off in on of the farm dams. Big flocks of Blue crane always grazing the farm. Situated close to the De Hoop Nature Reserve for hiking, game viewing and whale-watching. Visit Bredasdorp only 17km away for exciting arts, crafts, restaurants and shops.
