Three of the most prominent tourist attractions in South Africa belong to Oudtshoorn. Its world fame centres around the Cango Caves, the ostrich-feather boom during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and in recent times the Afrikaans cultural festival which takes place in Oudtshoorn every year. The town of Oudtshoorn is situated astride the Grobbelaars River on the fertile plain known as the Little Karoo. Oudtshoorn lies between the great Swartberg and the forest clad Outeniqua Mountains.
Description : Thylitshia Villa Country Guesthouse is a tastefully decorated Cape Dutch country house and combines an ambience of classic style with modern touches in four double rooms and four twin bed rooms. Stylish en-suite bedrooms are crisp and clean with mohair blankets, TV, air conditioning, 24/7 room service and ample luggage space. Enjoy a leisurely home-cooked farm breakfast or a health breakfast either on the patio (weather permitting) or in the colonial style dining room with a display of local art and an original Dover coal stove dating back to the early 1900's still in working order during winter.
Farm Activities : As a working ostrich, vine and alfalfa farm, you will be treated to a private tour of our farm activities including a visit to ostrich incubations, chicks on the farm and taste some local wine from the area. Farm tours take place daily (between August and April) at 16h30.
Dinner : Local ostrich cuisine is served by romantic candlelight every night with sherry served before dinner. A taste of our homemade 'Witblitz' (schnapps) rounds off the meal. A dinner reservation for you will be automatically made at the time of booking, for the night of arrival. Please advise us should you have special dietary requirements. Dinner is charged separately.

payable on arrival.
