Named after the wild geese in the area, Gansbaai is a quaint fishing village from where there are sweeping views of this rugged stretch of coast. Each year during the summer holiday season people from up-country flock to nearby villages from Franskraal to Pearly Beach as well as the holiday resort at Uilenskraalmond in order to enjoy the fine weather and wide open beaches where various activities take place, including angling, boating and safe bathing in the lagoon.
Description : Whale Cove A104 is a four-star rated, three bedroom, two bathroom luxury apartment in De Kelders, Gansbaai, with secure on site parking. It is a modern self catering seafront apartment with spectacular sunsets and views across the bay to Hermanus. It is one of the best land based whale watching spots in the world.
De Kelders attracts wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world when female Southern Right Whales gather in Walker Bay to give birth to their calves. The whales are often no less than 20 meters from the shore and can be viewed from the apartment's private balcony from dawn to dusk. A spotting scope is available for precision viewing and guests can also enjoy a barbecue on the balcony by using the apartment's outdoor modern Weber gas braai.

Directions:
From Cape Town take the N2 route over Sir Lowry's Pass. At bottom of Houwhoek Pass near Bot River, take left off ramp R43/Hermanus. Continue on the R43 through Hermanus, take the Stanford/Gansbaai road, pass Stanford and continue on the road towards GANSBAAI. As you approach Gansbaai turn right at the DE KELDERS road sign. Continue on Guthrie Road for approx 500 meters and turn right into Whale Cove complex
