The picturesque town of Hermanus lies between the Kleinrivierberge and the sea and stretches for six kilometres along the north shore of Walker Bay. Celebrated for its coastal beauty, wild flowers, angling, fine beaches and whales, Hermanus is one of the premier holiday resorts of the country. The holiday season which used to range through spring and summer to autumn - September to May - has in modern times increased to make the resort popular all year round.

Description :
Whale Rock Lodge, with its shining white facade, glowing woodwork and thick heavy thatch, has an air of welcome, warmth and well being. Close to the New Harbour, within sight and smell of the sea, the Lodge is but a three minute walk down to the edge of the cliff and the start of the cliff path, and a five minute drive to the center of Hermanus. Here can be found endless beaches, famous vineyards, expanses of fynbos, vast varieties of bird life and, of course, from July to November, hugely lolling whales.
For a relaxing drink before going out to dinner, there is a help-yourself bar in the fire-lit sitting room.
Enjoy a relaxing massage in our cosy poolside therapy room and partake of a leisurely breakfast served in the sun room overlooking a large, sparkling, salt water swimming pool.

There are eleven spacious, individually decorated bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms with bath and separate shower. Directions on How to Get There
From Cape Town (city and airport - approximately 1 ½ hours drive). Take the N2 motorway past Somerset West, drive on over Sir Lowry's Pass and Houwhoek pass. At the bottom of Houwhoek Pass turn off the N2 onto the R45 and travel to Hermanus. In the centre of Hermanus turn right at the Shell petrol station and travel one block to the T-junction.Turn right into Marine Drive with the sea on your left. Travel down Marine Drive which eventually becomes Westcliff Avenue. Carry on until you reach the entrance to the new harbour. Turn right into Stil Street. Whale Rock Lodge is approximately one hundred metres on the right hand side. Look out for the two large palm trees at the front gates
