The Portuguese navigators named this Bahia Formosa, and it certainly is a beautiful bay. The deep inlet, protected by Cape Seal (the western peninsula better known by its Afrikaans name, Robberg) has the magnificent backdrop of the converging Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains. Its three sheltered beaches, streching over eleven kilometres, provide the main attraction for summer holidays, when the influx of people increases the population three fold.
Description :
The SONDEL Beach House is a large luxury holiday home, tastefully decorated and situated a mere 160 meters from Solar Beach, Robberg Plettenberg Bay. This stretch of coast line falls along South Africa's splendid Garden Route, offering discerning visitors a holiday of peace, beauty and comfort. Enjoy the sea views, the Tsitsikama Mountain panorama and listen to the waves crash against the shoreline.
The beach can be reached directly from the house along a wooden boardwalk which opens up to a breathtaking 5km stretch of fine golden sand and safe swimming beaches. Views run across the bay with the historically rich Robberg Peninsula to the right and to the left the Tstitsikama Mountain vista.
Accommodation:
The accommodation consists of five en-suite double bedrooms, fine finishes, large open-plan entertainment areas, barbeques and a solar heated private outdoor swimming pool. The house is tiled throughout together with under-floor heating. Bedrooms are carpeted.

Directions on How to Get There
Plettenberg Bay lies just off the N2 National Road 30 kms to the east of Knysna and 235 kms to the west of Port Elizabeth. 500 meters on the western side of the traffic circle on the N2 outside Plettenberg Bay is Piesang Valley Road which down hill heads towards the sea once passing a large complex called Castleton.
Follow Piesang Valley Road for 3 kms to a traffic circle at the bottom of the hill and turn right past a Spar shopping centre and immediately right again into Longships Drive.
Drive along Longships Drive for 1.95 kms and turn left into Griz Nez Avenue.
Follow the signs to the Southern Cross Beach House and the Sea Breeze B&B travelling along Griz Nez Avenue for 1 kilometer crossing over a four-way stop street.
Take the second left turn after the four-way stop street, up a short steep hill into Capricorn Drive turning right at the top of the short hill.
The Sondel Beach House is the last house on the right hand side on the corner of Capricorn Drive and Gemini Street.
