Stayhere at Elim in the Overberg Western Cape South Africa On the road from Gansbaai to Bredasdorp is the Moravian mission station, Elim, with its charming atmosphere from the past, where sheep graze at the doorsteps of the thatch-roofed white-washed cottages. The farmhouse, built in 1796, the church with its old clock and the watermill are fascinating features. Probably the last of its kind in South Africa, the watermill was erected in 1828 and was in use until 1972. In 1974 the mill house was converted into a museum.
