Camps Bay is Paradise

After having been to Cape Town and specifically, Camps Bay recently; I realised that Camps Bay truly lived up to its reputation.

Camps Bay Cape Town

About 2.8km from Camps Bay (which translates to about 6 minute drive), you’ll find what is known as “The Iron Man Villa” in Clifton. If you’re from Gauteng, like me, you can do this trip in 2 minutes, give or take. 🙂

Drive like you're in a hurry

But listen, this villa is amazingly beautiful and you can even book the Iron Man Villa. It has 6 bedrooms and sleeps 12 people. It’s expensive, but affordable for 12 people, and best you don’t arrive with your own Kalahari Ferrari.

While we only had longing looks while driving past the Villa, we recently rented this Group R vehicle, the Toyota Fortuner 2.4 RWD from Hertz, which had enough seats (7) for the whole family, and we just had a great experience.

Back to reality and in Camps Bay, this stunning coastal area lies between the towering Twelve Apostles mountain range and the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean, creating a breathtaking setting.

The beaches here are simply gorgeous and few minutes apart, with their soft white sand and crashing waves. Despite the boulders, surfers are enjoying the waves.

The atmosphere in Camps Bay is undeniably upscale, with trendy restaurants, chic cafes, and boutique shops lining the main strip right next to the beach. Now, despite its sophisticated vibe, the natural beauty of the place is what really steals the show. I found myself constantly in awe of the dramatic scenery that surrounds this slice of paradise.

But let me tell you, it is possible to have four seasons in a single day, and true for all of Cape Town.

Whether you’re strolling along the palm-lined beachfront, enjoying a sundowner cocktail at one of the buzzing bars, or simply lounging on the beach and soaking up the views, Camps Bay is an absolute gem. Having just experienced it firsthand, I can attest to the fact that it truly offers an unforgettable blend of natural splendour and urban sophistication.

From Cape Town, you get Clifton, Camps Bay, Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak, Cape of Good Hope, Simon’s Town, Fish Hoek, Somerset and Gordon’s Bay…. If I missed a place, let us know in the comments below. Happy days!
