Middeldam Plaashuis is a charming old farmhouse that is tastefully renovated and a sure treat for a family farm escape. The Oregon floors and ceilings are still in place, as are the old sash windows. The perfect getaway for a family and/or their friends to enjoy an excellent farm stay. You’ll feel as if you own a farm for, well, a weekend or more!

The heart of this lovely home is the kitchen with built-in fireplace to enjoy a braai or late-night indaba. The stoep leads to an enclosed garden which makes it ideal for guests with young children. There is a fully equipped kitchen – stove/oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, built-in braai.  Living room – comfortable, shabby chic furniture. Television with DSTV select (just to keep you on top of the sporting action…)

There is also an outdoor fire pit known as “Die Kraal”.  Firewood is provided as part of your stay. Spend the evenings in front of the ‘vuurherd’ or outside on the stoep, soaking up the silence and spectacular star-filled sky.

A traditional farmhouse, it accommodates eight people in four bedrooms:
Two Bedrooms with Queen size beds; two rooms with twin beds each.
All the rooms are equipped with a panelheater to keep the winter chill at bay.
Newly renovated bathroom with bath, shower, etc. is fitted with luxurious linen and towels. Each room has a unique color scheme and attention to detail to make it comfy, but not cluttered.

Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and basic paddling on the farm dam (bring own equipment). Explore the 6.5km farm-stroll, which leads you past the duo of Barn Owls (Nonnetjie Uile) and small game. Your kids will love the spacious, yet private farm ‘werf’ (yard). Quite close to the De Hoop Nature reserve, Bredasdorp (15km), Arniston, Southern Most tip of Africa and the Elim wineroute.

Basic paddling on the farm dam. A 6.5km trail (hiking or trail run) on the farm is for exclusive use of our guests. Ribbok, springbok and blue cranes usually surprise you on the trail.

Middeldam Plaashuis is 14.9km from the centre of Bredasdorp.
