Stormsvlei Riverside Cottages offer self-catering accommodation in the tranquil hamlet of Stormsvlei, on the banks of the Sonderend River, 20 km from Bonnievale and Riviersonderend and 40 km from Swellendam. The old artisans’ quarters, built in 1860, have been beautifully restored from almost ruins to modern, comfortable units, preserving some of the ‘duck or grouse’ low doorways and thick walls.
Accommodation: There are five self-catering riverside cottages, accommodating a total of up to twenty people; each with own private entrance; fully equipped kitchen, lounge and fireplace.

The cottages overlook the Sonderend River (Riviersonderend) which is ideal for picnics, fishing, swimming, canoeing, walks or bird-watching. Guests can also braai next to the river, or use the row boats, and if you go for a stroll you can see our Galloway cattle grazing in the fields. The Stormsvlei Farm stall and Restaurant, in the old hotel (circa 1920), offers locally sourced, freshly prepared food.
