Tides Lodge lies on the banks of the Breede River, near Malgas, in the Cape. It is a short, scenic two and a half hour trip from Cape Town and only half an hour from Swellendam on the way to the Garden Route. Tides Lodge is an oasis in the dry wheatlands of the Overberg, an off-the-beaten-track destination for those who enjoy something different.

The lodge is located in a sheltered cove, with an island directly in front of the property. Tides Lodge is without doubt one of the most unique and pristine locations on the Breede River. Accommodation is offered in four lodges right on the banks of the Breede River, each with river views, a veranda and braai area. Wi-Fi and cellphone reception is available.

For bird-lovers, Tides Lodge is centrally situated for exploring the Overberg region and its associated bird life, and several estuaries give birders direct access to a variety of water birds. The Breede River is recognised as one of the best fishing estuaries in South Africa. Tidal action reaches 60 km upstream supporting a rich diversity of fish and birdlife. Fishing can be enjoyed year round in the waters of San Sebastian Bay and the Breede River Estuary, and the area offers an opportunity to catch a wide variety of fish.

Tides Lodge has something for everyone and the activities available range from relaxing in a deck chair and enjoying the peaceful tranquility to traversing the challenging 4×4 trails of the Overberg.
